New Booth Setup and Ready To Sell

As requested, I have posted here a few photos of my new little booth in Monticello Antiques Marketplace. I tried really hard to fit everything into this space and think I did a pretty good job, under the circumstances.

The Fall show ended yesterday and we torn down our structure in the salvage garden of the store and brought whatever we could to the new booth space. We had so much other stuff, as well, to add that it filled it up rather nicely.

So, don't forget to look me up whenever you are in Monticello, as well as, Camas Antiques.

Changing My Look At Camas Antiques.....again

Well, as I promised, here is the redo of my Camas space.  Lots and lots of new things to pick from.  Blue Ball jars galore, pillows and lots and lots of galvanized everything.  The green/blue cabinet in the back is just the right style for someone with a like for color and unique style.  The gustavian grey buffet in the foreground is a wonderful piece as an addition to a dining room.  Also don't forget the funky bread rack......just perfect.

Also, don't forget my other wall space with scrabble tile pendants and spoon pendants.  It is called Gifty Chix and is located right next to the checkout counter.  Some fun stuff.

Viva la France

Fabulous, fabulous fleurs.....what could be more beautiful to look at?  This was taken at a market in Provence, France.

I'm sure you have all spoken to someone who has visited the various markets around France.  Everyone seems to remember the one thing that draws them into the experience.  For me it was the flowers and, of course, the food.  Primarily because I was there taking cooking classes and each day we would get our vegetables, etc. from the market.

The spices, the vegetables, herbs and poultry were absolutely the best I have ever had.  But then again how could anything taste bad while you are visited France.  The colors, the smells and the sounds of all the people enjoying the daily task of shopping for their evening meal.  The only word that comes to mind is "enchanting".

I hope you all get to experience an outdoor  market in France someday.  It's well worth the trip.

New Pieces For Upcoming Shows

 Remember this piece?  It use to be green....a nice green, really, but it never seemed to catch anyone's eye.

Now it is grey.  A light grey, a true grey.  Something everyone should want in their home.  Don't you agree?

Next, a round dining table.  Nice but not entirely the look I was going for.  In its previous life, it had a sage green (that color again) top and this barn red base.  It looked a little too, too cottage-ish for me and since that isn't the look that I try for I decided to paint the base Gustavian grey, too.  No pictures but I can assure you that it looks marvelous.  Put these two pieces together in a dining room with some groovy chairs and you've got a terrific look.

These two pieces with be at the Junk Salvation Show on May 13/14 in Puyallup along with some demi-lune tables and industrial bits, as well.

Optical Lenses

For a really long time I have been hoarding these optical lenses.  It has come time to sell them.  There are 15 in all in various sizes and all of them are in perfecr condition.  Use them for necklaces or in some altered art of some kind, they work really well for that stuff. 

Anyway, I will be listing them on my ETSY shop.  Look for them under seller name "Decoro" or "Gifty Chix".  They will be in both shops.  You will be able to purchase them single or as a group.

FARM CHICKS SHOW JUNE 2011

Well, the week is moving along very quickly and my schedule has just gotten 1 show fuller. 

I am doing the Farm Chicks show in June and I couldn't be happier.  This is the first really far away show I have done and, as much as it will be a challenge, I am sure it will be the greatest thing ever.  Lots of stuff to buy and things to do but what a blast it will be.

There will be promotional information available in my booth at Camas Antiques very shortly.  So be sure to mark June 4 and 5 on your calendar to be in Spokane for this fabulous show.

 Here are a few photos of things that I had at the Junk Salvation Show yesterday in Hillsboro.  The sales were incredible and brisk for me and I had to reload the booth three times during the 8 hour show.  How great is that !?

Shows over.....time to regroup and recover

Happy Monday everyone.........As I had said on my last blog entry, I was preparing to do a show on November 12 called 2nd Saturdays in Seattle.  Well, I'm here to tell you that it was a HUGE success for me and I intend to do them each and every month going forward.  The photo above was taken before I was done setting up but I think you get the feeling of how big this venue was.

The organizers of the event are great ladies and the hangar venue was wonderful, so large, open and airy.  I just wish it had been warmer.  But besides that, the other vendors all brought their "A" game and their booths reflected it.  My booth ended up being soooo empty even before the show started due to all the sales I made to other vendors.  This, in its own is a good thing that I sold merchandise, however, it left me feeling (and looking) rather empty by the time the doors opened.  I did make my self-imposed goal of sales but it would have great to see my booth overflowing with merchandise.  Oh well, it all worked out in the end.

Now, it's upward and onward with the holiday open house weekend at Camas Antiques over, we can prepare for December's holiday show.

Out With The Old

This dough table has been hanging around my booth at Camas Antiques for quite some time.  As beautiful as it is, it's time to move on.  If you are interested in this piece for yourself or if you know anyone who might be, please contact me and I will make you a deal on the price.  The finish is original and everything about it is exceptional.  If you've ever thought about owning one, please let me know.

Fighting Cancer with Humor and encouragment

We all know someone who has been touched by cancer.  Whether or not it is breast cancer or another type of cancer, it is something that changes your life forever.

That is why I decided to create alittle scrabble tile necklace that says, "Fighting Cancer and Still Fabulous".  This is my way of offering up alittle bit of humor and lot of encouragment to those that are going through a hard time in their life.  Be brave and even though it's a hard road know that you are.......................................

Back In The Saddle Again.

Well, the long weekend is over and it's back to work.  Back to work on all those unfinished projects that are looming in the garage waiting to be beautified.

But first.....did everyone have a good weekend?  I certainly did.  No work to think about and didn't even fancy the idea to work on ANYTHING but relaxing.  What a grand time.  Hope you all did the same.  We visited the Portland Art Show downtown and it was filled with inspiration and ideas that I thought my head would bust.  So many talented people with such great "eyes" for the unusual.  It was great fun.

On a sad note, a friend of mine passed away over the weekend and even though I had not seen her in a while she will be missed.  It certainly makes you think about your own mortality alittle when something like this happens to someone you know.  I know this is cliche but she is in a better place as she had suffered through bad health these last few years.  We wish her family well in dealing with this loss.

Now, of course, it is time to set my mind on the upcoming show I am doing in October.  It is with an entire group of people that I have never met and, at last count, I do believe there will be 80 vendors at this show.  I will definately share more about this later.  Needless to say, I am very excited to be a part of this especially since one part of the two-day show is a benefit for breast cancer.

So off I go to paint and sand alittle (also to work on some small items, too).  Have a great week.

Camas Antiques window....................a success!!!

Well, as everyone was preparing for Barn House, I was doing the window at Camas Antiques.  My sister (Two Birds Vintage and I (Brocanteur Vintage) spent the day arranging and rearranging the window until we felt it was near our vision. 

We hope that you will all come and see the window and also visit our booth, Brocanteur Vintage and Two Birds Vintage, on the first floor of Camas Antiques.  Also, don't forget the Camas Vintage Faire coming up at the end of August.  See you there!
